Supporting Volunteers Day 22nd February 2012, Billingshurst Village Hall 9:15am – 4:00pm
More and more of us are relying on volunteers to deliver our services, and demand for those services is increasing, so it is even more critical that you attend this annual event.
The workshops programme is:
• Designing & marketing your volunteer opportunities effectively
• Engaging ex-offenders in volunteering
• Measuring the impact of your volunteers
• Managing highly skilled volunteers
• Working with young volunteers
• Handling difficult volunteer situations
• Supporting volunteers with mental health needs
• Motivating your volunteers
Workshops begin at 10:30am, 12:45pm and 2:30pm.
You will also have the opportunity to reflect on the volunteering environment more generally during the first session of the day and join in a lively debate.
The cost of the event is £15 including lunch. To book a place go to: www.workingtogetherproject.org.uk > Community training > West Sussex and follow the link. The full programme will be out shortly.

Are you looking for volunteers with a particular skill for your voluntary and community organisation or social enterprise?
Visit the Skill Share West Sussex website today – the gateway to hundreds of skilled volunteers in your area!
Whether you need legal or PR skills or just someone to get muddy in a community garden register for FREE today: www.skillshare-westsussex.org.uk
Before advertising the site to companies and individuals in the community we would like to fill the site with opportunities, we would like your support to register opportunities. Please don’t register an opportunity with a start date before the 1st December as we will start the publicity campaign to find volunteers over the coming weeks.
Remember to think what skills a business or skilled individual could bring to your organisation… do you need support with marketing, web design, business planning… it only takes a minute to register and already we have several large companies with 100s of professionals signed up to this scheme.
This is a project of the West Sussex CVS Network, funded by West Sussex County Council.
Sports Makers
The Sports Makers programme aims to use the inspirational pull of London 2012 to recruit, train and deploy 40,000 new sports volunteers aged 16 years and over to make sport happen across the country. Volunteers will have a positive and inspiring introduction to the world of sports volunteering via a series of workshops delivered locally by a training provider and in conjunction with a County Sports Partnership. It is anticipated that many volunteers will continue to give of their time, further increasing sport participation long after the 2012 Games are held in the UK.
The Sports makers programme will run from April 2011 until September 2013. To find out more visit the Active Sussex Website:
